Last October after I moved to New York, I decided to travel North America & Europe to visit friends & initiate creative projects. I went from NY to SF to LA to Calgary to San Francisco to London, Malmo, Berlin ending my two month travel in Reykavik. Travelling with the money I had & the hospitality of my friends & family I was able to engage in their lives in person, something Facebook or emails can't fully achieve the grasp of. I lived fully in the now, & it was beautiful.
My dad who gives all the children who are born into our family nicknames, adapted to calling me Little Wing; a Jimi Hendrix song he associated with the whimsical & colorful way I approach my travels in my artistic language. The wings are to me an escapism, when the pressures of day to day become overwhelming. I work on wings as they take me to a place where time & reality doesn't exist.
The first pair of wings were created for a music video I co-wrote for the artist Pegasus Warning on the Plug Research label.
