When I was asked by Bloompapers in Barcelona to think in the context of wallpaper and repeating patterns, I took some of my graphic murals and began to pull them apart & play with their shape. Working with a sensation of light using lo to hi hues & tones, the graphics began to adapt to an almost 3D quality on a 2D surface. Lines burst, exploded & imploded like light rays and starbursts in exaggerated contrasts. Some came subtle in fragile lines and others are evidently dynamic.
Later I combined my paper wing work with these graphic murals and The Little Wing Series was made.
