date: May 2021
Little Light Pillar is an artistic concept for light fixtures and architecture, with the idea to house herbs & plants that are nourished by the UV light emitted. The style & design is heavily inspired by the Art Nouveau aesthetic, and contemporary interpretations of natural forms. Created from an artisanal perspective, intricate fragile details and embellishments give ordinance to this sample pursuit of igniting a design aesthetic that is heavily grounded in Solarpunk.
Infused with 8-12 LEDS on the same circuit in the lamps torso, acting as a UV light source that also feeds the plants and herbs housed in the middle greenhouse. UV light has been long recognized as something that not only photosynthesis plants, but when used for light therapy, helps with seasonal depression. This light-weight lamp can be hung from its base, or placed standing on a surface and plugs into a standard electrical EU outlet.
