The largest living organism on record, Mycelium connects trees & other plant life in a complex symbiotic system, decomposing dead matter into something deliciously wonderful in the form of fruiting bodies; our friends, the mushrooms. This is why we commemorate our love and appreciation of the mushroom in an art exhibition at Friends of the Mushroom.

The Real World
A multicolored painting depicting the deep dive into the physcodelic world of psilocybin mushrooms.

My experiences have always taken me on a journey of color. Since color is the language I usually convey in my art, the peeling back of several constructed mental layers into what is referred as ' the real world', everything becomes as colorful and vibrant as my subconscious sees on a consistent basis. patterns and shapes outline the interconnectivity of energy and a spectrum of colors vibrate amongst them. It feels as though my vision bleeds radiant rainbows and all I can do is observe.

medium: acrylic & plastic gems on wood

size: 30cm tall x 26cm wide

We are Mushrooms having a Human Experience
'The Purpose of this work is to embody the mushroom. Instructions: Imagine a mushroom of your choice, before removing your shoes and taking to this grassy island carpet, physically, mentally and spiritually become the mushroom. Sit, Lay down and connect with other mushroom embodiers. You may close your eyes to do so, while embracing and empathizing with the fruiting body of your choice. Ask yourself: How does this mushroom feel? What sensations can be felt through my sensory palette? Embody as long as you need, but remember to hold space for other mushrooms to sprout around you.

medium: textile wool, cotton & acrylic yarns
